On April 11-12, 2022, the fortieth (twelfth extraordinary) meeting of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) was held in Moscow, Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by authorized representatives of the member states of the organization: the republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Belarus, the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan.
It should be noted that the Republic of Tajikistan is the head of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization for 2021-2022, and in this connection the meeting was led by the authorized representative from the Republic of Tajikistan, Director of the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mirzo Ismoilzoda.
At this meeting, the members of the Council discussed and approved the annual report of the Eurasian Patent Organization for 2021, the budget of the Eurasian Patent Organization for 2022, the Financial Regulations of the Eurasian Patent Convention and the Regulations on Fees of the Eurasian Patent Organization. There were also discussed the tasks set by the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization in connection with the implementation of the functions of an international search authority, EAPO assistance to national patent offices in expanding the capabilities of national technology parks to commercialize the results of intellectual activity and other topical issues in the meeting.
On April 12, 2022, the State News Agency “TASS” of the Russian Federation held a press conference based on the results of the fortieth (twelfth extraordinary) meeting of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization, at which the authorized representatives of the Member States provided detailed information on the results of the meeting.
