On April 26, the Working Group on Intellectual Property Rights met with representatives of the Commercial Law Development Program of the US Department of Commerce (CLDP).

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Working Group Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali­­ – Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of members of the working group from the ministries of culture, justice, finance, education and science, as well as the ministries of internal and foreign affairs, the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Main Department on the Protection of State Secrets under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information ” of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the event, the parties exchanged views on international best practices and recommendations on regional cooperation, regional trends and post-COVID-19 recovery in Central Asia, and the opportunities to combat counterfeiting in the field of intellectual property in Central Asia.
