The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) starts issuing Eurasian patents for inventions and industrial designs (Eurasian patents) in the form of electronic documents from May 1, 2022.

Eurasian patents in the form of electronic documents will be placed in the Registers of Eurasian patents on the web portal of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) and send to the patent owner or his representative using the EAPO-ONLINE electronic exchange system.

Simultaneously with Eurasian patents in the form of electronic documents, the EAPO will continue issuing paper-based Eurasian patents. The applicant/patent owner may refuse to obtain a patent on paper by notifying the office before the date of publication of information on the grant of a Eurasian patent.

Certificates of transition of rights to Eurasian patents, certificates of renewal of Eurasian patents (certificates), as well as Eurasian patents will be issued simultaneously on paper and in the form of electronic documents.

In the foreseeable future, the Eurasian Patent Office assumes a complete transition to the issuance of Eurasian patents and certificates in electronic form with the possibility of obtaining these documents on paper only at the request of the patent owner.
