Today, at the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the participation of the Director Mirzo Ismoilzoda, the management and the staff of the Patent Office, a solemn event dedicated to the National Unity Day was held.
M.Ismoilzoda opened the event and congratulated the audience on the National Unity Day.
In his speech, the Director noted that the holiday of National Unity is one of the great achievements of the Tajik people over the years of independence.
It was also noted that in the early 90s of the last century, when Tajikistan gained independence for the first time and our people laid the first foundations of their modern statehood, the enemies of the Tajik people plunged our country into internal conflicts, political resistance and armed confrontation, and in a short time dragged the newly appeared independent Tajikistan into the maelstrom of an imposed civil war. The terrible war, which lasted almost five years, resulted in the death of more than 150 thousand of our citizens, the migration of more than a million of our compatriots and the destruction of tens of thousands of homes, schools, hospitals and other vital social facilities.
Twenty five years ago, on June 27, 1997, the General Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and National Accord was signed.
Along with the restoration of peace and stability in society, we were able to develop and implement the most important economic and social programs to ensure energy independence, the country’s exit from the communication impasse and the country’s food security, as well as holding important political and cultural events in a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere.
In this context, we must wholeheartedly cherish the unity and independence of our country as a great national achievement. National unity was granted to the proud Tajik people with the hard work and efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan His excellency Emomali Rahmon.
In this context, we must make an effort to ensure that our people, including the young, appreciate the great blessing of independence and freedom, protect national unity and be always ready to defend these historical achievements.
