On July, 2022, at the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of the management, the head of the social sectors development department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Abdulvorisi Vafo, heads of structural divisions and employees of the Patent Office, a meeting on the results of the activities of the Patent Office in the first half of 2022 and tasks until the end of the year was held.
The meeting began by an introductory speech of the Director of the Patent Office, Mirzo Ismoilzoda, and the first Deputy Director, Shavkat Valizoda, made a detailed report in the form of a presentation on the achievements and summing up the results of the activities of the Patent Office for the reporting period.
It was noted that in connection with the strengthening of the industry, ensuring the development of industrial property indicators, improving the quality of work and services and expanding international cooperation, significant work was carried out during this period.
It was emphasized that during the reporting period, the Patent Office paid the main attention to the implementation of instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan His excellency Emomali Rahmon, on the introduction of inventions into production, the formation of a national information resource and the prevention of plagiarism, as well as in order to improve activities and promotion of an effective system of work, and ensuring the high-quality implementation of the tasks of the Government of the country, the Patent Office has completed a number of tasks.
During this period, with the initiative, assistance and coordination of the Patent Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, the participation of inventors and innovators of the country in various international competitions and exhibitions was ensured, as a result the participants took prominent places and received well-deserved awards.
According to the report, it was added that in the first half of 2022, regardless of the negative impact of external factors on the development of the national economy, the development of industrial property indicators was ensured.
Thus, during this period, 94 applications for obtaining a petty patent for an invention were filed to the Patent Office, which is 18 (24%) more than in the same period of last year.
In the part of the registration of trademarks under the national procedure, 321 applications were submitted to the Patent Office during this period, which is 19 (6.2%) more than in the same period of last year.
During this period, 933 applications for registration of trademarks were filed to the Patent Office under the international procedure, which is 150 less (-14%) than in the same period of last year. At the same time, examinations of 1305 applications were carried out, which are 44 (3.5%) more than the total number of examinations carried out over the same period of last year.
During the period, the Patent Office issued 518 documents on the protection of industrial property objects to applicants, which is 7 (1.4%) more than in the same period of last year.
Total number of protection documents granted: 15 patents for the invention (3 more than in the same period of 2021), 260 petty patents for the invention (36 more than in the same period of 2021) and 243 trademarks and service marks certificates (32 less compared to the same period of 2021).
At the end of the meeting, Abdulvorisi Vafo, the Head of the Social Sectors Development Department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, taking into account the field achievements, gave a positive assessment to the work of the Patent Office.
Also, Mirzo Ismoilzoda noting the results obtained for the reporting period and in order to the further development of the sphere of the industrial property, gave appropriate instructions to the heads of structural divisions.
