We bring to the attention of inventors, navators, patent attorneys and all interested parties that a new information and retrieval resource, the Pharmaceutical Register of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO Pharmaceutical Register), containing information about Eurasian patents, has been placed in the public domain on the web portal of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization, relating to pharmacologically active substances, which have been assigned international non-proprietary names (INN).
The EAPO Pharmaceutical Registry was created to inform interested parties about the availability of exclusive rights to inventions related to pharmacologically active substances protected in the territory of the member states of the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC), and provides patent owners with an additional tool to protect their rights.
The Eurasian Patent Office provides an opportunity to include in the EAPO Pharmaceutical Register information on national patents of the member states of the Eurasian Patent Convention. For this purpose, national patent holders may file applications directly with the EAPO. The documents required for filing such an application and the procedure for its consideration are provided for by the Procedure for maintaining the Pharmaceutical Register, which is posted on the EAPO web portal (section “Documents”, subsection “Issues of legal protection of inventions”).
