On October 20 of this year, the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting of the patent office’s activities for the nine months of 2023 with the participation of management, a representative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, heads of structural divisions and employees of the office.
Director of the Patent Office Mr. Mirzo Ismoilzoda opened the meeting with an opening speech and gave the floor to first deputy director Mr. Shavkat Valizoda who in turn presented the patent office’s final report for the nine months of 2023 in the form of a presentation.
It was noted that to ensure the development of the sphere, increase industrial property indicators, improve the quality of work and services and expand international cooperation, significant work was carried out during this period.
It was emphasized that during this period, the Patent Office primarily paid attention to the implementation of the orders and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His excellency Emomali Rahmon in the direction of introducing inventions into production, digitalization of the field, the formation of national information resources and in general, the protection of industrial property objects, and in order to improve activities and promote an effective work system, as well as ensure high-quality implementation of instructions of the Government and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, implemented a number of specific tasks.
During the reporting period, with the initiative, assistance and coordination of the Patent Office, the participation of the country’s inventors and innovators in various international competitions and exhibitions was ensured, as a result of which the participants won honorary awards.
Thus, during the reporting period, the Officet received 110 applications for an utility patent for invention, 517 applications for the registration of trademarks under the national procedure which is 76 applications (17%) more than in the same period of last year, as well as 1636 applications under the international procedure that this figure is 214 units (15%) more than for the same period of last year.
During this period, the patent office issued to applicants 1 patent for invention, 1 certificate of copyright for a patent, 96 utility patents for invention, 468 copyright certificates for a utility patent and 357 certificates for trademarks and service marks.
In conclusion, Deputy Head of the Division – Head of the Department for Development of Social Sectors of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Mrs. Mohtobi Odinazoda taking into account the important achievements of the field, gave a positive assessment for the patent office’s activities during the reporting period.
Also, the Director of the patent office Mr. Mirzo Ismailzoda based on the indicators of the office’s final activities gave appropriate instructions to officials for the further development of the sphere.
