The 15th meeting of the Interstate Council on the Legal Protection and Defense of Intellectual Property (Council) was held on December 12, 2025 via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS countries, including the republics of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, the Russian Federation, the CIS Executive Committee and the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization as the observers.
Mirzo Ismoilzoda, Director of the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan represented the Republic of Tajikistan in this meeting. He spoke in detail about the legal protection and defense of intellectual property in the Republic of Tajikistan during the reporting period, as well as the goals and plans for the development of this area in the country.
The meeting also discussed issues within the Council, including work within the CISPATENT project, advanced training for the specialists of the CIS countries, a report on the Council’s activities in 2021-2024, the progress of preparing a draft of methodological recommendations for determining the market value of intellectual property, a draft Action Plan for the implementation of the second stage (2026-2030) of the CIS Economic Development Strategy for the period up to 2030, the organization of cooperation between Council and the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the CIS on the development of interstate standards in the field of intellectual property, the chairman of MGSIS in 2026 and other issues.
