Today, a meeting to summarize the results of the office’s activities in 2025 was held at the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda Safarali, the head of the Department for the Development of Social Spheres of the Ministry Mr. F. Faizullozoda, the management, heads of structural divisions and employees of the Patent Office.
The meeting was opened by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade A. Abdurakhmonzoda and then the Director of the Office Mr. Mirzo Ismoilzoda Haidarbek presented a detailed report on the results of the Office’s activities for the reporting period in a presentation format.
It was noted that the Patent Office has accomplished significant work to ensure the sustainable development of industrial property, strengthen and expand international cooperation and improve the quality of services provided.
It was emphasized that during the reporting period, the Office’s activities were primarily focused on implementing the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His excellency Emomali Rahmon, in the areas of implementing inventions in production, digitalizing the industry, improving operational activities and implementing effective management systems and ensuring the high-quality execution of government instructions.
During the reporting period, with the Office’s initiative, support and coordination ensured the participation of domestic inventors and innovators in various international competitions and exhibitions, resulting in prizes and high awards.
Overall, given the implementation of a range of effective measures, growth in industrial property indicators was achieved in 2025:
During the reporting period, 173 applications for petty patents for inventions were received, 55 (47%) more than in the same period of last year.
For trademark registration through the national procedure 1,210 applications were received, 282 (30%) more than the last year, and 2,376 applications were received through the international procedure, 34 more than the last year.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade A. Abdurakhmonzoda gave an overall positive assessment of the Patent Office’s work, noting the industry’s key achievements. Based on these results, he gave the Office’s leadership specific instructions and presented a number of constructive proposals for the industry’s further development.
