On April 10, 2026, a meeting was held at the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan to summarize the Office’s activities for the first quarter of 2026.
The meeting was attended by the Offcie’s management, Head of the Science, Innovation, and Information Resources Development Department of the Ministry’s Social Sector Development Division Mr. Ahad Khushvakhtov, department heads, and Office’s staff.
The meeting was opened by Mirzo Ismoilzoda, Director of the Patent Office, and then Shavkat Valizoda Sharobudin, First Deputy Director, presented a detailed report on the Offcie’s activities for the reporting period.
The report noted that the agency has accomplished significant work to ensure the sustainable development of industrial property, strengthen and expand international cooperation, and improve the quality of services provided.
It was emphasized that during the reporting period, the Office’s activities were primarily focused on implementing the orders and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, regarding the implementation of inventions in production, digitalization of the industry, improvement of operational activities, and the introduction of effective management systems, as well as the high-quality execution of government instructions.
Overall, given the implementation of a range of effective measures, industrial property indicators increased in the first quarter of 2026.
During the reporting period, 44 applications for petty patents for inventions were filed, which is three more than in the same period last year.
205 applications were received for trademark registration through the national procedure, and 703 through the international procedure.
In conclusion, the Patent Office’s director, M. Ismoilzoda, gave an overall positive assessment of the Office’s activities, noting key achievements in the industry. Based on the achieved results, he gave specific instructions to the heads of structural divisions and responsible officials and presented a number of constructive proposals for the further development of the industry.
