Today, a solemn meeting dedicated to the International Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated annually around the world on April 26, was held at the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the participation of the management and employees of the Patent Office, as well as a number of active inventors of the country.
The event was opened by the director of the Office, Mirzo Ismoilzoda, who congratulated the employees, inventors, creators of the country and all those who are constantly working in the field of intellectual property on their professional day.
It was noted that the Government of the country directs one of the directions of the policy of development and advancement of the country’s economy in the field of intellectual property, and provides support and legal protection for inventors, innovators and other creative individuals in the country and abroad. In this regard, the State Institution “National Patent and Information Center” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan is using all possible means to encourage and support inventors.
To this date, 510 patents and 1726 petty patents for inventions, 108 patents for industrial designs and 75475 trademark certificates have been registered in the Republic of Tajikistan.
At the same time, it is a source of pride that today the achievements of our inventors are recognized internationally and have received prestigious awards.
One such international event is the Annual Women Inventors Exhibition and Forum, held in Seoul, South Korea. From 2012 to the present, 48 female inventors from the Republic have presented 77 inventions, winning 30 gold medals, including two gold medals from the World Intellectual Property Organization, three gold medals from the inventors’ associations of the People’s Republic of China, Thailand, and Germany, 27 silver medals, 21 bronze medals, and two Grand Prix awards from the inventors’ associations of the Republic of Korea and Thailand, one special award from the Republic of Uzbekistan, one first prize from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and one special award from Indonesia for “Best Woman Inventor”.
Also in 2026, the country’s inventors participated in the 16th Middle East International Invention Exhibition, held in the State of Kuwait, and won 10 medals: 3 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze.
During the event, several active inventors were recognized for their significant contributions to the development of inventive activity in the country and the enhancement of Tajikistan’s prestige on the international stage.
Finally, several Office’s employees were awarded the “Certificate of Honor” and the “Patent Office’s Badge” for their significant contribution to the advancement of intellectual property in the country and for their work.
