Today, in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, a dedicated session entitled “Structural Economic Transformation and Intellectual Property Law: Interaction and Development Trends” was held within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum 2026.
The session brought together representatives of government authorities, international organizations, research institutions, universities, and leading law firms from the Russian Federation, the Kingdom of Belgium, and the Republic of Tajikistan. Among the participants were Grigory P. Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization; Vladimir N. Lopatin, Head of the Republican Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the Russian Federation; Tadzio Schilling, Chief Executive Officer of the Association of European Businesses; as well as other distinguished experts and officials who discussed current issues in the field of intellectual property.
The Republic of Tajikistan was represented by Mirzo Ismoilzoda, Director of the State Institution “National Center for Patents and Information” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan. He delivered a presentation on the topic “Structural Economic Transformation and Intellectual Property Law: Interaction and Development Trends” highlighting Tajikistan’s perspective on the role of the intellectual property system in fostering an innovation-driven economy, improving public policy, and strengthening international cooperation.
